Notes
Always put cheese side up.You can enhance the flavor of Costco’s French Onion Soup by adding croutons, bread, or extra Swiss cheese. You can also add herbs and spices like thyme, garlic pepper, cayenne, bay leaf and salt if you find the soup too bland. You can add more texture by adding crusty bread on top. This adds a nice crunch to the dish and also helps to soak up some of the soup’s delicious flavors. You can use any type of bread slices you like, but a crusty French baguette or sourdough bread works particularly well. Simply slice the bread and toast it lightly before placing it on top of the soup. You can also try rubbing the bread with a clove of garlic before toasting for extra flavor. Try adding a bit of olive oil on top.
